In order to process your booking, Chuck & Robbie’s Diveshop will collect certain personal information details from guests. These details will usually include the names and addresses of party members, emergency contact information, gender, age, credit card or other payment details and special requirements such as those relating to any disability or medical condition that may affect your activity.
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personally identifiable information. If requested, we may release your information only when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law and/or in any COVID-19 situation were contract tracing is necessary.
The following terms + conditions apply to guests who have booked and/or are confirmed for tours (diving, snorkeling and/or fishing) conducted by Chuck + Robbie’s Diveshop.
AT CHUCK & ROBBIE'S DIVESHOP WE OPERATE ON A GOOD FAITH PRINCIPAL. IN GENERAL, WE DO NOT ASK YOU TO MAKE A DEPOSIT TO SECURE YOUR RESERVATION OR BOOKING WITH US.
That said, we do reserve the right, and we may or may not require you to make a deposit, if it’s an extremely busy time of the year (ie: around Christmas and New Year’s). If we do ask you to make a deposit there will be a good reason for it.
All bookings that require a deposit, and any cancellation of that booking must be made in writing by email. FOR BOOKINGS THAT HAVE PAID A DEPOSIT, all cancellations made less than 48 hours before the reservation, by you, between the dates of December 20th and January 3rd are non-refundable.
Credit card information will be collected using an authorization form and entered manually. Receipts will be emailed. Full payment is due at the time of the activity.
If you do cancel, we reserve the right to call you all sorts of bad names to insult your character while drinking or not. This may be either verbally, online, or through any form of print media for a period of seven days following the cancellation. And yes, we may refer to you being involved with a sheep and rubber boots, but that will not be the limit or extent of our insults.
Other than that, no one can predict the weather so if we have to cancel due to weather or fault of our own we will try our best to reschedule the activity to your satisfaction, if not there is a full refund of any deposit paid in advance.
SPECIFIC TO SCUBA DIVING:
PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU WILL NEED TO BRING PROOF OF CERTIFICATION FOR SCUBA DIVING. UNFORTUNATELY, WE ARE UNABLE TO ACCOMMODATE SCUBA DIVERS WITHOUT PROOF OF CERTIFICATION. SO PLEASE, DO NOT FORGET YOUR CERTIFICATION CARD!
Dive accident insurance is NOT mandatory but EXTREMELY encouraged, and we recommend DAN Insurance. Please check conditions of insurance as DAN has different policies and different regional coverage (DAN Americas, DAN Europe, DAN Asia Pacific, etc). Dive accidents do happen. Chuck & Robbie’s Diveshop is not responsible for any costs or treatment needed as a result of diving activities. You may also be required to pay for any medical treatment in advance and have your insurer reimburse you.
A refresher/tune up is required for divers who have been inactive for the following periods of time:
· less than 20 logged dives and inactive for 6 months or more
· less than 50 logged dives and inactive for 1 year or more
· less than 100 logged dives and inactive for 2 years or more
The use of drugs or alcohol before diving is strictly prohibited and anyone who arrives for diving or dive instruction under the influence or incapacitated will be send home. Afterwards, please act like an adult unless you are too inebriated.
In the event of a large game encounter, should you choose to enter the water (this is not required) there is a minimum fee to be paid directly to the captain upon return to the diveshop, as follows: $20 USD for whale sharks, $10 USD for manta rays exceeding 6ft, and $5 USD for each dolphin. If you chose not to pay this minimum fee, the captain may take the compensation in the form of food and/or alcoholic beverages.
Chuck & Robbie’s Diveshop is not responsible for dive equipment stored in their facilities as the service is offered in good faith.
Students according to certifications agencies should have their own: dive computer and/or dive watch, surface marker buoy, compass, fins, mask and snorkel. Wetsuits are optional.
Guests are fully responsible for any dive equipment or gear they use and will be charged full replacement cost loss and/or damage. Please ensure equipment is taken care of while in your possession. Replacement costs are as follows: weights $4 USD/pound, mask $30 USD (prescription $80 USD), weight belt $10 USD, BCD $300 USD, regulator $300 USD, fins $30 USD, wetsuit $100 USD, snorkel $5 USD, watch $30 USD, compass $75 USD.
There is a $25 USD service charge for any regulator rinsed without the dust cap. To safely avoid this, please let our trained staff rinse the equipment. Any regulator that has been vomited into must be identified to staff out of sheer common decency.
Before any scuba diving activity, a medical questionnaire and/or student profile and disclaimer must be completed and signed by the diver. Any individual stating or demonstrating a medical condition must be examined by a medical professional before any diving/instruction is to commence. For divers doing their referral certification dives, please don’t forget to bring your referral form or signed logbook along with your completed medical questionnaire and any other paperwork necessary to complete the certification course.
All activity schedules are offered in good faith. The management reserves the right to delay the start of an activity and is not responsible for delays due to weather conditions or any other unexpected situations that may arise.
As much as we try, there are some situations that may be beyond our control. Kindly note that despite your deposit or lack thereof, Chuck & Robbie’s Diveshop reserves the right to cancel all trips at any given time due to weather conditions, minimum number of divers and/or snorkelers not being met, or any other unforeseen circumstances that may prevent us in keeping you safe while doing any activities with us or providing you with the best service possible.
Check in by phone or email with us the day before your activity to make sure that weather and/or any shuffles in activity schedule will not affect your plans.
Chuck & Robbie’s Diveshop is exempt from liability for accidents or injuries occurring on the premises of either the diveshop or any boat. Please be careful as this is often a slippery and wet environment. Also, let’s make it clear that sharks do bite and have been known to bite people. If you are bit by a shark we are not responsible.
Photos or videos, taken at our facilities, from our boats, or on an activity we are operating are the rightful property of the person who took the picture or video. Sometimes these may be used for marketing and advertising purposes including, but not limited to, social media, print, online ads etc.
It is your responsibility to ensure that you do not behave in a way which causes offence or a danger to others, including the spread of COVID-19, or which risks damage to property. In such circumstances Chuck + Robbie’s Diveshop has the right to terminate the tour, in which Chuck + Robbie’s Diveshop will not be liable for any refunds or reimbursement of expenses incurred as a result. Further, you will be liable to reimburse Chuck + Robbie’s Diveshop for any expenses incurred as a result of such behaviour.
Guests of Chuck + Robbie’s Diveshop may be subject to temperature and symptom checks, self-isolation, quarantine, adhering to the Belize Travel Health app, cancellation fees, fines and/or penalties for not obeying the Ministry of health and/or Government of Belize laws at an additional cost to the guest. Chuck + Robbie’s Diveshop will not be held liable.
